The protection Taguibo watershed campaign is an initiative initiated by the BCWD with the participation of local institutions, organizations and certain individuals. The campaign is dedicated to raising awareness and step up on the allegation of illegal activities within the proclaimed Taguibo River Watershed Forest Reserve (TRWFR).
Advocacy of watershed protection is important because it can lay the foundations for public support and greater watershed stewardship. We are calling your attention to participate with us in this campaign.
Our watershed today is reaching for your help as there are allegations on illegal activities conducted within the reserved area of Taguibo watershed. Thus, we are calling your attention and participation to spread the awareness to the public so that we, in unity, will step up against these allegations.
We deserve to live with clean water source and clean protective environment!

Hi. I am an AB Psychology student of SJIT and we choose Save Taguibo Watershed as our subject for our English research paper.
This website is very informative and helpful. We look forward to more infos as we would like to make our research perfect as much as we want to help the advocacy.
Hello! I am a school paper adviser. Right now, we’re digging up facts and views on the watershed controversy. Initial findings and realizations showed that the controversy boils down to GREED! Greed for power and money. It’s hard to explain to my staff the things they discovered during interviews. They went to DENR, BCWD and even the City Hall.I feel so sorry for them that in order to have a fair and balance news, they have to be exposed to the ills of our society.
They encountered individuals with such nasty attitudes. In school, they are taught to be gentle and sensitive to the needs of others. Out there, they were able to come close with the devils of our society. How could I told them that that’s the real world?
One writer said, “What is going to happen to the watershed if it would take years to resolve the issues? Every day, the rape of the watershed is getting intensive.” The staff are so worried with what is happening with our water supply. I told them that there are groups/ organizations who are doing their best to try reversing what has been done. I think groups like this group can.
Lately, I realized that the staff early exposure to this sad reality could be a learning experience for them. That they would grow up with social and political conscience. I hope the experience stirs theirs conscience.
I would like to thank some people for facilitating their quest for truth: personnels from BCWD, DENR-Region, Office of the City Administrator, local media practitioner, DOT- regional office, ordinary Butuanons and students from other schools. Merci Bea coup!
